'Kamiakari' from Nagano

Grown with mineral-rich water from the Southern Alps and organic, volcanic soil, Kamiakari brown rice is cultivated in a pristine environment. Led by Keita Hosoya of The Rice Farm, a PhD researcher in natural farming, it is produced with great care and pride.

A mutant variety of Koshihikari rice discovered by chance in 1988 by Akihiro Matsushita, a rice farmer in Shizuoka Prefecture; as of 2019, it is a rare variety authorised for production by only five farmers in Japan.

Kamiakari is an easy-to-eat brown rice with a large germ, offering a nutty flavour, crunchy texture, and natural sweetness without bitterness. Each grain delivers up to three times the nutrients, including vitamin B, E, fibre, and GABA.
